Lebanon’s Largest Breast Cancer Awareness Walkathon

Michel Daher Foundation transformed the streets of Zahle into something extraordinary: thousands of voices, one heartbeat, and one shared mission.

In a remarkable display of unity and civic engagement, the streets became a river of people marching together for breast cancer awareness, not simply participating in an event, but standing together for a cause that touches every family and every community.

Organized by Michel Daher Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipality of Zahle–Maalaka and Taanayel, the walkathon carried a clear message under the slogan: “صحّتك بتعنينا، افحصي وطمنينا” — Your health matters to us. Get checked and reassure us. Schools, universities, hospitals, scouts, the Lebanese Red Cross, Civil Defense, local associations, and hundreds of citizens came together to send one message: silence is not an option when awareness can save lives.

Throughout the route, educational booths, interactive activities, community stands, and food stations transformed awareness into action. Most importantly, hundreds benefited from free breast cancer screenings conducted on-site, because awareness alone is not enough without access and action.

This was more than a walkathon. It was proof that when communities come together with purpose, they do more than raise awareness; they create change. And perhaps most importantly, it served as a reminder to communities across Lebanon: meaningful change begins when people move together.
