Join the Sustainability And Lasting Adaptation and Management (SALAM) program to take your Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises to a new level, gain access to expert-led training and mentoring, receive customized technical support to overcome your challenges, and benefit from in-kind grant to boost your production and sustainability. You can also take advantage of empowering opportunities designed for children, youth, parents, MSMEs, and CSOs to develop valuable skills.

WHY APPLY

SALAM Project Focus on:

  • Supporting MSMEs in  Agri-food and Agriculture:

This project provides tailored support to MSMEs to restore production, rebuild supply chains, and enhance resilience for the future, contributing to food security and community recovery in South Baalbek:

Customized Support Packages: After selecting 30 MSMEs, a One-on-One needs assessment will identify operational challenges and provide customized support tailored to each MSMEs.

Business Continuity Management (BCM) Training: MSMEs will receive BCM training to ensure smooth operations in the face of future disruptions.

One-on-One Coaching and Technical Assistance: Support in areas such as energy efficiency, production optimization, and branding to help businesses grow and thrive.

In-kind Grants: MSMEs will receive tools, equipment, and resources to boost production capacity and sustainability.

 
  • Promoting Social Stability:

SALAM project offers an empowering opportunity for children, youth, parents,  MSMEs and CSOs to gain valuable skills.

Training of Trainers (TOT) Program: Empowers youth in music and drama therapy to provide psychosocial support to children recovering from trauma. Participants will lead therapy sessions, helping children express emotions, process trauma, and build resilience.

Emotional Resilience Workshops: Equip parents and MSME owners with tools to manage stress and support their children’s emotional well-being and recovery.

Youth Leadership, Conflict Resolution, and Innovation through Drama: Foster’s leadership and innovation, empowering youth to address local challenges, resolve conflicts, and promote peaceful coexistence in their communities.

TOT Program for CSOs: Strengthens local organizations, especially youth-led groups, to lead sustainable initiatives that address the environmental crisis, promote recovery, and implement circular economy practices.

SALAM Project is implemented by Michel Daher Social Foundation in partnership with GIZ stands for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. It is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for msmes

SALAM project is open for micro, small & medium enterprises located in South Baalbek operating in agri-food and agriculture sectors.

To be considered for the SALAM project, MSMEs must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Operating in Agri-food processing or Agriculture sector.
  • Established for over a year in South Baalbek.
  • Operating in one of the below value chains: Olive, Dairy, Honey, Legumes, Wheat & Barley, Agroforestry and Protected Agriculture, or any other relevant fields in agriculture or agrifood sectors.

We Strongly Encourage to Apply:

  • Women-led enterprises
  • MSMEs employing people living with disabilities.
  • MSMEs prioritizing social impact and transitioning
    to green energy
