Michel Daher Social Foundation, in collaboration with the Bekaa Water Establishment (BWE), hosted a meeting to present and discuss the findings of the first energy audit and hydraulic analysis report for the Jdita Water Station. The project aims to enhance the station’s energy efficiency and operational sustainability, ensuring reliable water access for the community.

Key attendees included Bekaa Governor Judge Kamal Abou Jawde (attending online), MDSF President Mrs. Marleine Daher, Bekaa Governor Representative Mr. Wassim Chehwan, BWE Lawyer, and Head of Board Mr. Assaad Haddad, BWE Board Members Engineers Ghassan Jarrah, Elias Attala, and Jean Saade, Acting General Director Mrs. Paula Hawi, Project Engineer Mr. Jad Choubassi, and Prodos Energy Auditor Engineer Mr. Peter Gedeon.

The report outlines no-cost, low-cost, and long-term solutions to boost efficiency and sustainability at Jdita Water Station, tackling energy waste and water scarcity. It provides a clear path toward resilience and sustainable development in the region.

Looking ahead, MDSF and BWE will work collaboratively to validate and execute the proposed recommendations, ensuring a lasting impact on water management in Jdita.

This project is implemented in collaboration with the Bekaa Water Establishment, under the “Shabaka 2” initiative. It is supported by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the Centre de Crise et de Soutien (CDCS) and carried out by Expertise France, a French public agency for international technical cooperation.
